decerabrationhol

decerabration n. the removal of the higher centers of the brain or cutting across the brain below the cerebrum so that cerebral function are eliminated. This procedure is carried out on experimental animals, but certain injuries to the brain in man cause the same severe neurological signs as occur in an animal that has been decerebrated.
